Research Your Family

Are you wondering how to discover a Revolutionary Patriot in your family?

It’s a simple process…

Schreiben mit Kugelschreiber.jpg - Wikimedia CommonsStep 1:  Write down as many generations as you know on a piece of paper.  Start with yourself and your birth date and birth city.  Then write down your parents’ names and birth dates and birth cities.  Then add your grandparents.  Write down as many generations as you know!

A few places to get started: Google.com; Ancestry.com; Find-a-grave.com; FamilySearch.org; The USGenWeb Project (usgenweb.org).  Just get searching!

Even if you don’t know everything about your ancestors, you can contact your local chapter of the SAR to help you discover your family’s roots.

To find out more about how the SAR can help with your research, please email President Owen Stiles at ostiles45@gmail.com -or- phone him at: (530) 846-3251
